NexGen Teknology to sponsor KYSO golf tournament NexGen Teknology, Inc. of Kingston recently signed on as the Tournament Sponsor of the "Playing Fore the Kids!" golf outing that the Kingston Youth Sports Organization (KYSO) is putting together to raise funds for improvements to the athletic fields in Kingston.
NexGen is owned by Eric and Jane Crone of Kingston. The Crones have four children under the age of seven who are involved in scouting, sports and other activities in Kingston. Eric Crone coaches soccer and baseball.
"Raising a family in Kingston and doing business in the area, we feel that it is important to support local organizations," Eric Crone said. "Groups that directly benefit children are especially important. Academics, scouting and sports all play a vital role in the development of our children and that's where we want to be involved both professionally and personally. Many businesses as well as individuals who give of their time and resources to support the various groups in town, and we wanted to make sure we were doing our part."
NexGen Teknology specializes in web hosting, design and maintenance, and also sells computers, servers and network equipment. The company serves clients in eastern Massachusetts.
"We show small- or medium-sized businesses how technology and the Web can improve the way they conduct business," Jane Crone explained. "We also have extensive experience managing IT (Information Technology) projects of all sizes." For home users, NexGen offers computer sales and service, wireless networks, and virus protection and removal.
Jack Riordan, chair of KYSO's fundraising committee, said that it is business owners like the Crones who will make this event a success.
"We are grateful to have people like the Crones who have started up a local business, are nurturing a young family of their own, and are relative newcomers to our community, and yet they already feel the need to contribute to the development of all youth in the Town of Kingston," Riordan said.
"Many congratulations should go out to the Crones and others like them who are going to help make this first KYSO fundraising event a fun and successful one," he added.
"Our family will be involved with Kingston sports for years to come and we are very excited about the further development of the programs and facilities that this tournament will benefit," Eric Crone added.
The "Playing FORE the Kids" tournament will accommodate 144 golfers in 36 foursomes. Spouses and guests are welcome to join the golfers at 5 p.m. for cocktails and dinner at the Indian Pond Country Club ballroom. The tournament fee of $150 includes golf, cart, snacks and dinner. Dinner-only tickets are $50. The festivities will also feature a raffle, a silent auction, and prizes.
